Lime in the mining industry
Within the Mining industry, lime plays a fundamental role. Lime neutralizes, which is why it is used in the different mineral extraction processes, it is environment friendly, and offers solutions that translate into improvements for the future.
LIME IN MINING
Lime, in addition to neutralizing, it prevents volatilization and the generation of toxic gases that are produced when obtaining minerals such as silver and gold.
It works mainly in dynamic, static, and flotation leaching processes acting as a pH regulating agent. At the same time, lime is used in the treatment of acid mine waste.
CALIDRA IN THE MINING INDUSTRY
By raising the pH with Oxid, the formation of hydrocyanic acid (HCN), a gas harmful to the health of operators and personnel who come into contact with it, is avoided.
When the mineral contains a high number of fines, lime serves as a binder, increasing performance in dynamic, static, and flotation leaching processes; in addition, it serves as a flocculating additive.
Our Quimex products are used in polymetallic mining of copper, lead, arsenic, zinc, among others. They function to control and raise the pH in flotation cells, allowing the metal to be concentrated to be selected based on the pH.
Preparation of grout lime with our Quimex hydrated limes, allows it to react twice as fast, contrary to the use of generic limes.
